The Beurre Hardy is a sweet, juicy pear hand. It is a classic French Pear, it has always been popular in England since the 19th Century. It has an excellent flavour and the buttery melting flesh which is a characteristic of the best quality French pears. It has a distinctive flavour.

Pot size 18cm. Height 90cm approximately

Growing tips:

• Produces medium to large fruit

• The ideal position for a pear tree is a sunny, sheltered site, well away from any frost pockets. Avoid poorly drained or shallow soils.

• Prune them in Winter just after flowering

• Leaves turn bright red in Autumn

• Not the best choice for a small garden

• Strong growing and slow to bear fruit and is only slightly hardy.

• Strong growing, slow to fruit, half hardy, conical fruit are juicy with distinctive flavour and leaves turn bright red in Autumn.

• Pick it whilst hard and leave to ripen in store.
